Karsiwen is a former Indonesian migrant worker who has worked in Hong Kong for 11 years. She is actively organizing and fighting for the welfare of migrant workers. When she returned to Indonesia in 2011, she established KABAR BUMI, an organization that advocates and campaigns for issues of migrant workers and migrant families. Karsiwen is the chairperson of KABAR BUMI, member of Task Force Zero Trafficking Network, organizing committee member of the Asia Pacific of Women Law and Development, and member of the government’s National Task Force Anti Human Trafficking.
Karsiwen adalah mantan pekerja migran Indonesia yang telah bekerja di Hong Kong selama 11 tahun. Ia aktif berorganisasi dan memperjuangkan kesejahteraan buruh migran. Sekembalinya ke Indonesia pada 2011, ia mendirikan KABAR BUMI sebuah organisasi yang mengadvokasi dan mengkampanyekan isu-isu pekerja migran dan keluarga migran. Karsiwen adalah ketua KABAR BUMI, anggota Task Force Zero Trafficking Network, anggota panitia pelaksana Hukum dan Pembangunan Perempuan Asia Pasifik, dan anggota Gugus Tugas Nasional Anti Perdagangan Manusia pemerintah.
